Sheryl Soukup has been selected as a mentor for this year’s Girls Going Places® Entrepreneurship Conference.

Sheryl Soukup is the President of Soukup Strategic Solutions, providing nonprofit organizations with expertise in the areas of fundraising and nonprofit management. She earned the designation CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) and is a registered Fundraising Consultant with the State of Florida. Her work as a consultant is concentrated in strategic planning, fundraising, marketing and board development.

In addition to running her own business, Sheryl currently serves as the Executive Director for Residential Options of Florida, which is a non-profit organization that helps individuals with developmental disabilities find and maintain affordable and inclusive housing. Sheryl also serves as the Board Chair for Connection Coalition of Southwest Florida and as Board Secretary for Collier Resource Center. Sheryl is the recipient of numerous awards at the local and state levels.
Girls Going Places® Entrepreneurship Conference is an event where girls will meet with prominent women business owners and business professionals who will act as Conference Mentors for the day. These women will lead the students through a series of interactive activities and discussions centered on starting and running a business, facilitate small roundtable group discussions, answer questions, and share information about their challenges and successes in running a business or working in the business world. Lynne Kimmich, the Director of Girls Going Places® says “We really want to focus on the idea that if you can see it, you can be it” and that is the impression she intends the attendees to leave with.

Girls Going Places® is partnering with Florida Gulf Coast University and America’s Small Business Development Center for its 19th year. The Spring Girls Going Places® Entrepreneurship Conference will take place in the Cohen Center at Florida Gulf Coast University on May 9, 2018.
