The Boston Red Sox are World Series champions, and starting Monday, Southwest Florida residents who are fans of the team won’t have to travel to Beantown in order to get gear commemorating the title.
On Monday, the team’s merchandise store at JetBlue Park, the Red Sox home for Spring Training every year, will begin stocking World Series merchandise and will be open additional hours to let fans stock up.
Store manager Doreen Arsenault said that World Series merchandise will be available while supplies last.
The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday through Friday, November 9. The store may extend their daily hours if demand exists.
Baseball will return to Fort Myers in February, when the Red Sox will start their efforts to defend their title with Spring Training. The first scheduled game of the spring is an exhibition against Northeastern University on February 22. Reporting dates for pitchers and catchers and the start of team workouts have not yet been announced, but traditionally are around a week before the games begin.
