Friday, September 21 kicks off the annual Island Hopper Songwriter Fest. Friday through Sunday features live music all weekend long on Captiva from local bands, along with headliners LOCASH, Midland, and Travis Denning. In addition, tolls on the Sanibel Causeway, the only way to access Captiva, have been waived this weekend. The party continues Monday through Thursday in Downtown Fort Myers, and Friday to Sunday on Fort Myers Beach. Mickey’s Search Party is coming to Germain Arena this weekend, a new production by Disney on Ice. Families can see a host of Disney characters, including Elsa from Frozen, Moana, and Tinker Bell, as well as see the worlds of Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, and The Little Mermaid. It’s a little bit of a drive, but for country music fans its worth it. The first annual Blackwater Country Jam happens Saturday at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda. Headlined by Jerrod Niemann, the two stage concert on the Peace River includes Runaway June, Jacob Bryant, Taylor Phillips, Meghan Patrick, and JB Crockett.
