Deputies are asking for the public’s help identifying a pair of suspects who were caught on video shortly before beating and robbing a man in Fort Myers.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the victim of the robbery left Bruno’s Market located at 15600 McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers at around 8:30 p.m on Friday, April 27. While walking towards a friend’s house, the victim was approached by a black male and hit in the face. Staggered from the blow, the victim was then stuck in the back of the head by a second man. The suspects then began grabbing at the victim’s pockets and demanding all the money and other possessions he had on him.

The alleged robbers took the money clip containing $159 out of the victim’s front pocket and fled the scene, joking about the robbery as they slowly jogged away. The two suspects were caught on video surveillance arriving at Bruno’s Market just before the robbery.

The first suspect is a black male, about 5-foot-8, 200 pounds, with a do-rag, a black long sleeved t-shirt, and black pants with expensive white and silver high top sneakers. The second suspect is approximately 6-foot tall, with long dreadlocks tied in a knot on the top of his head. Both men were seen leaving the area in a dark Chevrolet sedan.

The LCSO asks that anyone with information on the identities and whereabouts of the suspects call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or on the P3Tips mobile app.
