A suspect has been taken into custody after a Collier County Deputy was shot at while responding to a call early Monday morning.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was responding to an alarm call at 25675 Immokalee Road between Ave Maria and Immokalee early Monday morning when someone inside a vehicle leaving the scene shot at the deputy’s cruiser.
The deputy was not hit by the gunfire and is uninjured.
CCSO deployed K-9 and air units in order to track down the fleeing suspect, shutting down a portion of Immokalee Road east of Oil Well Grade Road.
A suspect was detained for questioning and is in custody. No charges have been filed yet.
The available details are limited due to the investigation being active and ongoing, but CCSO says that members of the public are safe at this time.
