A cigarette robbery at a Bonita Springs Circle K could be connected to a statewide spree, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said Thursday.
According to Crime Stoppers, three suspects entered the Circle K at 24931 South Tamiami Trail in Bonita Springs shortly after the convenience store received its regular shipment of cigarettes on Wednesday morning.
While one suspect distracted the clerk, Crime Stoppers says that another jumped over the counter and grabbed the bins that the product arrived in, handing them off to the third suspect who carried them out of the store.
The three suspects, all black males, were wearing jackets, while the two that grabbed the product were wearing bandanas to obscure their faces, according to security footage released by Crime Stoppers. The three left the scene in a white Dodge Challenger.
Crime Stoppers said Thursday that detectives believe the robbery is part of a statewide spree of similar thefts, as the methods and descriptions of the men involved match other robberies elsewhere in the state.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS, online at http://southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com, or through the P3Tips mobile app. All tips are kept anonymous, and information which leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
