The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has named a suspect in a double homicide that occurred in east Fort Myers on Sunday.
According to deputies, Angel Morales Carrasco, 25, is wanted in relation to a crime which left two dead in front of a home on Maine Avenue in Morse Shores. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
One of the victims has been identified as 42 year-old Wendy Rodriguez Hernandez. The second victim, a male, has been identified, but his name has not been released because his next of kin has not been notified.
When captured, the LCSO intends to charge Carrasco with two counts of second degree murder, as well as aggravated battery.
During a press conference held Monday, Undersheriff Carmine Marceno said that he was confident that investigation would lead to an arrest.
“Our detectives are working around the clock, nonstop, with the information we’ve received to make sure that justice will be served,” Marceno said. “I can assure you that we are very confident that in this case, we will have an arrest.”
