The U.S. Amy Corps of Engineers has been providing emergency assistance to homeowners with their Blue Roof Program since Hurricane Irma blew through Southwest Florida one month ago, but the last chance for residents to request their service is fast approaching.
The program sends out workers to secure openings in the roofs of home with temporary plastic sheeting to help reduce additional damage until full repairs can be made. Representatives will be on site at the Collier County Growth Management Department on 2800 North Horseshoe Drive in Naples from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to help residents register from now until October 13.
Friday the 13 will be the last day the Corps will operate the program onsite at that location, so homeowners who wish to request assistance should visit as soon as possible.
