Suspect wanted in bank robbery

Authorities are still seeking a suspect who robbed a Chase Bank in Fort Myers earlier this week.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a black male who is believed to have fled the scene in a gold Toyota Camry.

The robbery occurred on Thursday at the Chase Bank located at the corner of Daniels Parkway and Six Mile Cypress Parkway in south Fort Myers, shortly after 5 p.m. The suspect, deputies say, was wearing a white shirt and a ballcap and demanded cash from a teller. He implied he had a weapon.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers has released pictures of the vehicle which police suspect was the getaway vehicle in hopes of identifying the man and his whereabouts.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. Tips can be kept anonymous and information which leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
