CCSO seeking pair shopping with funny money

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find someone who ripped off an area business with counterfeit currency.

According to a release from CCSO, a man and a woman walked into the Sam’s Club in North Naples on Aug. 16, and used the fake money to purchase several bottles of liquor. Deputies also allege the two managed to conceal several cartons of cigarettes on their way out.

CCSO is looking for a black male and female, and released surveillance images from the store in hopes of finding someone who can identify the suspects.

Anyone with information on the two is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300, or contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS. Information is kept anonymous and information which leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
