Three Bonita Springs teenagers were arrested Tuesday after robbing a man at gunpoint, then bragging about it on social media.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two 17-year olds and Ernesto Ortiz, 18, and charged them with robbery with a firearm.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, who announced the arrests in a news release, the victim was supposed to meet with one of the teens on Monday afternoon to purchase a Louis Vuitton belt. When he arrived, the release says the other 17-year old put a gun to victim’s ribcage, while the other blocked his escape from his vehicle.

Then, the release states Ortiz took two necklaces and a bracelet from the victim, along with several hundred dollars in cash.

Shortly after the robbery, the three are seen in a video from inside a vehicle, which the release says was posted to Snapchat, bragging about the act.

In the video, Ortiz is holding up the stolen jewelry, while one 17-year old is holding up the stolen cash from the robbery.

“Could’ve took his life but I ain’t want that,” the other 17-year old says on the video from the backseat of the car, while holding a firearm.

According to the release, LCSO’s Robbery Unit recognized the teens from the video and arrested them within hours. All three have faced prior felony arrests for burglary and theft, among other charges, one of them charged with a felony at the age of 11, the release states.

“These three young men are very familiar faces to law enforcement,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.  “Each one has proven at very early ages that they have absolutely no regard for the law.”

Ortiz is being held on $100,000 bond, while the two 17-year olds were taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
