BRAVO Cucina Italiana in Naples has released their special summer menu, available until until August 6, with a trio of delicious surf and turf options! Guests can enjoy the a choice of two or three features starting at $16.99 for lunch and dinner. Each entrée comes with a choice of soup or salad and an enjoyable eating adventure.
Walking into BRAVO is like pulling into a port in Tuscany, Italy. The decor is so Renaissance with large mirrors and paintings on the walls, white brick, an open kitchen and grand pillars through out the dining area. In front of the restaurant is the patio area with adjoining inside/outside bar, plenty of tables for moonlit sky and a comfy resting area with cushioned seating.
We were escorted inside to a half round booth overlooking the playground of food and art in the dining room. I started off with a lovely Matua Valley Sauvignon Blanc that paired perfectly with the Lobster Bisque and salad courses. This Lobster Bisque was 5 star. It had a wonderful creamy texture with large bits of lobster in every spoonful. What I liked most was the flavor in the broth. The salt was not overpowering the subtle flavor of the lobster. Next, we sampled the salad courses; Caprese Salad with mozzarella, tomato and fresh tomato and BRAVO’s bright chopped salad with black olives, tomatoes and red peppers dressed in a light herbaceous dressing. A nice addition to any meal, any time of year. Very hard to put down the fork.
I never had eaten Chicken Scampi before. Shrimp, yes, but chicken… I was all in! It was sautéed in white wine and garlic then placed on top of a mount of angel hair with spinach, lemon butter and tomatoes. What’s a travel to Tuscany without a scampi of any kind? We fell in love with the Sliced Skirt Steak with fingerling potatoes, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, Reggiano, lemon vinaigrette and aromatic chimichurri.
My very favorite Mediterranean staples merged together at BRAVO to make one amazing dish. Grilled Shrimp & Cous Cous Pilaf. It came with bits of asparagus, grape tomatoes, shaved Brussels sprouts, Reggiano, Marcona almonds, red pepper aioli, arugula and spritzer of lemon vinaigrette. Yes, yes, and YES! It was flavorful, had wonderful texture and is my new heart throb!
Completing this meal on fine Naples summer afternoon was Warm Berry Cake Dessert. It is house-made butter cake with seasonal berries and vanilla bean gelato. A sensational wrap for a well-done foodie performance – BRAVO to the army of trained chefs. The staff was also very accommodating and actually know their customers by name. I think I’ll work on that with my next few visits! If you are looking for a romantic dinner with your loved one, a large family pow-wow or just a lunch with a friend then BRAVO is the place I highly recommend.
