Police seeking suspect in South Fort Myers bank robbery


The search is on for a suspect who robbed a South Fort Myers bank on Friday.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are searching for a black male. He was wearing a yellow shirt, camouflage shorts, and a baseball cap.

The robbery occurred at Chase bank, located at the corner of McGregor and Iona Boulevards, shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Deputies say the suspect did not brandish and weapon, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
