Two Dead in Collier: Sheriff’s Office Tight-Lipped

“naplesThe Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating having discovered two dead bodies in an East Naples Home on Wednesday.

According to the incident report, two deputies responded to a call about a home alarm. After clearing the home located in the Collier’s Reserve Country Club gated community just east of US 41 and deactivating the alarm, deputies indicated that they found a deceased male and female with apparent gunshot wounds to the face. The report said that the bodies are believed to belong to Michael Bitterman, 74, and Barbara Bitterman, 61.

Deputies said that they found a shotgun of unknown make and model on the foot next to a bed in the room where the bodies were discovered.

Little else is known at this time.  The incident is under further investigation.  The Naples Herald is awaiting a request for additional information and will provide updates upon receipt.
