The Cape Coral Police Department received a call for service, at approximately 9:35 a.m. on Monday, indicating that shots had been fired on the 1900 block of Cornwallis Parkway.
Upon arriving, CCPD officers encountered a white male suffering from a gunshot wound in front of a residence on that street. The victim was transported to a local hospital, however, succumbed to the injuries that he received.
The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of kin.
A resident of SE 19 Place, one house away from the location of the victim, Doyon has prior arrests in Lee County including, but not limited to, Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon (two counts), Possession of Bulletproof Vest during Certain Offenses (two counts), Violation of Domestic Violence Injunction, DUI, Petit Theft and Grand Larceny.
