Body parts, bloodied and contorted mannequins and student casualty volunteers littered the FSW bomb scene filled with smoke and destruction…a college’s preeminent terror.
While Florida Southwestern State College offers distinguished certificates and degrees addressing Emergency Medical Technology/Technician, Paramedics and Crime Scene Technology/Technician, information obtained in a classroom can never fully prepare students for the trauma and drama of an actual emergency.
With shrieking and crying resounding from all directions, EMS students performed triage upon the aggregation of victims. Those capable of walking were escorted from the scene while the dead and severely injured remained surrounded by smoke.
