FMPD Arrests 21-Year-Old in Connection with Scarlett’s Cabaret Homicide

“naplesKahleel Jacques Perez, a 21-year-old Fort Myers resident, was arrested today and charged with the Saturday morning homicide of Rogerio Melo Anjos.

After a reported confrontation, Anjos was shot in the parking lot of Scarlett’s Cabaret on Fowler Street in Fort Myers.  He was immediately transported to Lee Memorial Hospital but succumbed to the wounds he received.

Perez has a lengthy an sordid criminal history in Lee County.  Prior arrests include Grand Theft, Cocaine Possession, Possession of Prescription Drugs, Fraud, Marijuana Sales, Hit and Run, Smuggling Contraband into a Detention Facility, Possession of Synthetic Drugs to name just a few.

Perez has multiple probation violations and is currently in violation of Drug Offender Probation that began on February 9, 2016 and was not scheduled to terminate until 2020.

“We are extremely grateful for the abundance of information we have received from our community as it relates to the this case. Our investigators have done a phenomenal job following up on all leads, talking to witnesses and locating Mr. Perez,” stated FMPD Lt. Jay Rodriguez.

Perez is now charged with Homicide, a Weapons Offense and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.
