It’s not hard to see that there is something very different going on when you walk into Millennial Brewing Company in Downtown Fort Myers on Friday night.
Food trucks from local restaurants like Burgerque are parked outside serving the crowd. As you walk in the open garage door of the warehouse that the brewery calls home you see the large black slab of the bar that was built by the owners. A massive screen projects the multitude of drink options that are made in-house or shipped in by other local entrepreneurs. A giant mural covers one wall and pop art hangs on another available for purchase.
The thing that really stands out is the crowd. Downtown Fort Myers drinking establishments tend to be pretty segregated, college-age partons at one bar, older patrons at another, but the crowd at Millennial Brewing is very diverse. College kids and snowbirds are sharing a drink together but the real surprise is that amount of late-20s and early-30s couples, a demographic that is often absent from downtown, enjoying drinks while watching their children play with the toys, crayons and games provided by the brewery.
