“naplesThe India Association of Naples recently announced that IndiaFest 2017, its hallmark event that celebrates the diverse cultures of India, will take place on Saturday, March 25 at Fleischmann Park in Naples.

The theme for this year’s IndiaFest is the ‘Colors of India.’ India is made up of 29 different states — each with its own culture and cuisine. The goal of IndiaFest is to showcase the wonderful variety of cultures that makeup the country. IndiaFest will feature dance, songs, clothing and delicious cuisine from the different states.

In addition to enlightening Southwest Floridians about the rich cultures of India, IndiaFest also strengthens the ties of the Indian community living in Southwest Florida. The dance and activity programs put on by children helps them connect to their Indian roots and also helps them be comfortable on stage sharing their heritage with others. The marquee event of IndiaFest will be a fashion show, where a variety of clothing will be showcased on stage.

A portion of the profits will be donated to the Senior Friendship Clinic in Naples, in honor of our founding member Dr. Rasik Mehta. Mehta died in Nov. 2016.

IndiaFest is a rich visual and cultural experience that will entertain and educate the Southwest Florida community. The event will take place on Saturday, March 25 2017, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fleischmann Park (1600 Fleischmann Blvd, Naples, FL 34102). Admission is $5 per person.
