A Naples teen is accused of stealing a large amount of money from a local Circle K where he works as a cashier.
Benjamin Wilson, 18, of the 600 block of Pine Vale Drive, was arrested Tuesday by Collier deputies at the 8000 block of Radio Lane.
According to an arrest report, Wilson’s managers observed Wilson fake a cash drop transaction by putting the money in his pocket instead of the register.
Wilson’s managers told deputies that they confronted him about stealing the money and he admitted to it.
The amount of money stolen totaled $900, reports said.
Deputies said that Wilson told his managers that he stole the money because he needed to buy a new bicycle because someone had stolen his old bicycle. He also told them that he wanted to go visit his family and needed the money to travel.
Wilson faces a felony charge of grand theft.
