A hit-and-run accident left two hospitalized and one Bonita Spring’s man arrested.
Andres Casas, 30, of the 27000 block of Tortoise Trail, was arrested Wednesday by Collier deputies at Pine Ridge Road and Napa Boulevard.
Deputies said they arrived at the scene of a two- to three-car collision involving a white Chevrolet Malibu and a red Chevrolet Aveo which had been rear ended by Casas, who was driving a silver jeep.
While checking the safety of the members in the red Aveo, deputies watched as Casas began to drive away from the scene of the accident, according to reports. Deputies said they ordered Casas to stop the vehicle three times but he did not obey, leading them to draw their firearm. Casas finally obeyed orders and stopped the vehicle.
During an interview with Casas, deputies said he denied being involved in the crash and that he borrowed the car from a friend. However, an arrest report shows that Casas’ jeep had evident damages to the front end and broken glass. The driver of the white Malibu also positively identified Casas as the driver involved in the accident, reports said.
Deputies estimated the total of the vehicle’s damages to be $15,000.
According to reports, the two passengers of the Chevrolet Aveo were transported to the Naples Community Hospital and are being treated for contusions and neck injuries. The driver of the Malibu did not sustain injuries from the accident, reports said.
Casas faces two charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury and three charges of leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.
