A Naples woman is accused of stealing more than $7,000 worth of jewelry from her mother and then selling it to a local pawn shop.
Christy Grevengood, 28, of the 6000 block of Autum Woods Boulevard, was arrested Wednesday by Collier deputies at the 5000 block of Shirley Street.
According to an arrest report, deputies met with the victim, Grevengood’s mother, who told deputies that she suspected her daughter stole numerous pieces of jewelry from her home. The victim said that her daughter has a track record of substance abuse and stealing from her and other family members.
Deputies said that stolen items included a 14K gold Garnet band, a tri-color 18k Cartier Trinity Ring, a sapphire and diamond ring, two emerald and diamond rings with matching earrings, and a diamond bracelet.
After running a pawn check, deputies discovered many recent pawn transactions from September and October that matched the items described by the victim, reports said.
According to deputies, three of the stolen items were positively identified by the victim. The victim paid a total of $400 to Gems and Gold pawn shop for her items.
Grevengood faces felony charges of grand theft, dealing in stolen property, and defrauding a pawnbroker.
